What is an e-liquid?
Simply stated, an e-liquid includes nicotine (optional) and flavour. When used for an electronic cigarette, it provides nicotine to the body, much like a typical cigarette does, but without a bad taste, scent, and dangerous toxin.
You're likely to have it labelled with different titles, and you're going to see it written in multiple ways, but basically, it's just the same thing. The next time you hear or see vape juice, vape liquid, e-juice or mod juice, you'll know it's all e-liquid at the end of the day.
Most of the explanations that there are so many names for it is that people almost have different vape types and sub-cultures. For now, you should ignore all that. Everything you need to know is that if it's a liquid that goes into an e-cig system, it's an e-liquid.
How does E-liquid work?
We know that e-liquid includes nicotine and flavour and that it is used in a vapour unit. How can we transform the substance into something that we can inhale?
Most of the vape systems have three parts—a charger, a reservoir that lies on top of it, and a coil inside the tank.
When the vaping liquid is applied to the tank, the coil begins to be saturated. When you start the battery, it heats the liquid so that it transforms into a vapour. It's actually no special than heating a pot, except that you inhale the steam straight through your mouth and lungs.

Is e-liquid harmful?
Vaping is still a comparatively young thing, but we can't tell the long-term consequences on the body. Not enough time has elapsed to allow research to draw some real conclusions.
Let's be clear if you've never smoked, then we're not going to advise you to start vaping. As for everything that goes through your body, there's always a chance.
Although what we can categorically say is that when it comes to vaping versus smoking, vaping is much less dangerous.

How to choose the right e-liquid nicotine strength?
Finding the best kind of liquid is very much dependent on what kind of device you're using and what your vaping inspiration is. When selecting the right nicotine power, all these elements come into play.
So, to make it simpler, let's break it down into what kind of smoker you are/were:
Nicotine strength for a heavy smoker
We're going to define a heavy smoker as something over 15 cigarettes a day because that's more than enough cigarettes for a day!
Although you might think that you should go right for the maximum possible power, it's not going to give you the greatest satisfaction. So it will be worth playing with 11mg, 16mg, 18mg and 20mg to see what meets the cravings during the first few weeks of vaping.
These nicotine levels are only commonly found in 70% PG and above, so you'll need a vape pen or a non-sub-ohm unit to bring them in.
Nicotine strength for a light smoker
Light users prefer to have up to 10 cigarettes a day, but while there are clear nicotine temptations to be met, the need for high strengths is not as crucial.
As a result, there is a lot of variety about what sort of liquids you can vaporise when effectively stifling the nicotine cravings.
The lowest nicotine strength is usually 3 mg and is present in all e-liquid forms, including PG, VG and 50/50.
That being said, it's probably advisable that you start a little stronger, so 6mg of strength will still be a reasonable option to allow you control about what kind of liquid you're using. You can quickly pick up 6 mg of PG and 50/50 of e-liquid, but VG may be a little shorter.
Nicotine strength for a non-smoker
If you're not a smoker, you don't need nicotine.
